to build upon on-site archive with Annetta’s legacy of diverse and interconnected activities. The project's goal is to develop an exhibition through a series of workshops where volunteers and community members connected to the House of Annetta and explore specific pieces of the archive and learn new skills in engaging with it.

House of Annetta (HoA) at 25 Princelet Street, opened in 2021, serves as a new social centre that continues the ethos of the Edith Maryon Foundation, established in 1990 to decommodify property. The house was gifted to the Foundation by the family of Annetta Pedretti, who lived and worked there for 38 years until her passing in 2018.

Project time :
December 2021- March 2022

Exhibition Date: 12.02-06.03.2022

The expansive public program was to explore key themes in the archive of Annetta’s house and work  touching on local histories of identity and activism, methods of archival practice and collectively authored artistic practice. Working alongside groups associated with the HoA and the wider public we investigated how these ideas, histories and stories might be relevant to our lives and communities now.

The project followed a process that enabled collaborative working between local artists, development and consultation with institutional archivists from Whitechapel Gallery and RCA
